Gasless MIG Welder

Gasless MIG welder does not need extra shielding during operation. Unlike the gas MIG welder, which needs a gas shielding during the process, the gasless MIG welder will do without it instead uses a flux-cored wire that is supported on a tubular wire feed. The vapor forming compounds that it uses will act instead to provide a gas which acts instead of gasoline to protect against oxidation.

What makes the gasless MIG welding to be practical is the existence of flux inside the MIG welder that creates a slag on top of the weld bead as it cools down. The responsibility of the residue in the gasless MIG welder is to protect the weld puddle from the environmental conditions such as the windy conditions as it keeps the atmospheric gases of the weld puddle.

So in simple terms, the gasless MIG welder may not exist since, in the end, the weld must be protected against the environmental gases such as oxygen. The idea is achieved through a self-shielding approach that is solved by the tube and the metal flux core!
